that Sony's mount is too small! What is essentially the same lens between Z mount and FE mount costs up to $250 less on FE mount cause of the puny (too small for FF) lens mount.

Prices are not out of the air, but often they are only what you can ask for on the market. Without informing myself, I would say that the Z lens came out recently, the FE lens has been on the market for a while.
But since you're just trolling anyway, no matter what direction you want to take your statement (sarcastic or not): It's difficult to infer production costs from price.

Why would essentially the same lens being $200 cheaper be anything other than a good thing?

What effect does that have on the lens performance? If they're essentially the same lens, isn't it needing less of everything good? Doesn't that suggest the Z mount needs excess materials for no gain?

Damn Z mount is huge. Do you think they will be able to make a medium format sensor for Z mount one day? That's great size. Imagine all the amazing Z mount S line lenses but on a medium format sensor!

No, medium format starts at 70mm on the diagonal, 55mm mount on a 16mm flange is way too small and close.

They might be able to get away with crop medium format, but then still probably not, the gfx uses 65mm diameter and 27mm flange distance.

It's basically just a massive waste of space that forces Nikon bodies and lenses to be larger than they need to be.

Wrong, the distance from the point of convergence to the sensor is the focal length. Larger sensors need longer fl's for equivalent fov. You can do the maths quite easily on what the limit is for the Nikon mount on MF. A triangle 7.5mm x 16mm gives us an angle of 65 degrees, if we extend that triangle out to the centre of the image with a base of 35mm it gives us an absolute minimum focal length of 75mm, if you want any wider than that you'd need giant, expensive, image quality destroying and light sucking corrective rear lens groups, it would be the most cucked camera on the market.
