Album software

Hello /p/ I come to you for help.
My mom is trying to make a photo album but she keeps running into problems using the Hoffman software she usually uses, it's a piece of crap imo

What software do you guys recommend for album making? With the least learning curve possible pls

Why do you need some software for this? Just buy a photo album and attach your prints to it

Hoffman? What are you trying to do? Online printing? Digital album? Slideshow? Home printing?

My mom makes photo albums/ photobooks that are later sent to print.
Currently she uses the Hoffman software in which you simply state the kind of photobook you're making (orientation, paper type, etc) and just 'fill in the blanks' but it's a piece of shit software

She likes messing around with layout and picture sizes so printing all of the pictures beforehand wasn't something we had considered

I've seen that some adobe software can be used to format photo albums or something like Fundy but I don't know how user friendly they could be

SmartAlbums is my fav, but definitely costs you
Fundy is great too, but costs even more
honestly though, her best bet is just learning how to use the software she's already working with

Look into indesign or affinity publisher, then find photobook, or album templates online for them. They may look intimidating, but with templates, and few tutorial videos, you'll never want to come back to half arsed software again.

Obviously Adobe InDesign is the right tool for the job. It has a steeper learning curve than any of the dedicated album tools, but if you want to roll your own layout it's easier and quicker to just learn InDesign that's made for it instead of constantly fighting with the other tools to make them do something they were never meant to do.

But I really wouldn't bother going through all of that just for a photo album. I'd just do it the old fashioned way as >>4117912 said. That has the least learning curve of all, and it does just what she needs, if not what she wants. If she doesn't want to learn anything she needs to lower her expectations instead.

I've never tried making a photo album with MS office or other similar tools. I heard they really shit the bed when you have tens of pages with high-res photos suitable for print, is this true?
