You should not have to move the exposure slider at all in post ever. This will make all the difference in the world.
If you are underexposing your photo in camera then brightening it in post with the exposure slider you are ruining your photo. The mirrorless are really bad for getting exposure wrong as people are looking in the viewfinder and failing to identify the exposure is wrong as they just see an exposure they think is correct.
DSLR you see an exposure meter instead so generally get more accurate exposure.
2. Crop in camera, If you get to post and find yourself cropping away 60% of the photo to get the crop you wanted you have also ruined your photo and added way more noise than should be there.
You should also be barely using the shadow or highlight sliders too, these also fuck up your images and make them look fake.
Its hard work but learn to light the subject properly and expose properly so your picture is basically finished just by added contrast and sharpening. No other editing should be required other than maybe white balance and the slightest colour tint if you want.
But most important of all:
The people getting good photos are getting good photos because they are good photographers. I know many examples of good photographers who have used canon, sony, nikon, film, digital, mirrorless and get good photos on all of them.
Any illusion you can buy camera x and be good just because your purchased x is pure fantasy.
