Sony?

No.4121390 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Hey guys, I've always wanted a Sony camera as if the "real thing" had already begun (which should come as no surprise!).

As for whether Sony still plans to keep those 5mm lenses, here're my answers:

I don't know. They're pretty much locked under $1K and I think the price seems fair at around $200k. Maybe because they are less expensive that the original 4 megapixel cameras.

I was also not impressed by the decision to keep the 18-135mm f/2.8 ED-S, which is much less expensive than the 18mm f/1.4. But that's on its own. My original plan was to upgrade the 2 and 3.2 on my 3 megapixel L-series to take advantage of the 2MP version. However, there was very little news on that (even without a 4 megapixel L-series, the 2MP version still gives this zoom much better imaging performance), so I was willing to wait for a bit more.

The L+10 is an L-series sensor which lets you shoot low noise, low ISO and extremely long ISO. My 5-megapixel L-series sensor is just barely better or better than the lens that comes out of the box, so now that Sony has a camera with a smaller sensor size the L-series is no joke.

Should I go for it?
