>>4122714Right, it's charging that kind of contemporary camera money for a body without certain very useful recent features (or any other real special edge) that makes it a meme camera. Intentionally refusing tech that:
1. Protects against accidental jitters
2. Lets you use several stops lower ISO in tough lighting conditions when shooting static subjects
3. Enables usable handheld video to be shot on occasions you want it
--all of which increases your useful output--is a LARP. I get wanting the external aesthetic but it's a poor value proposition from Nikon compared to the competition and if people don't want useful mirrorless features when they're paying a price that easily should include them, they may as well go shoot actual film.
In all fairness, I'll also call the next x100, X-Txx, X-E, and X-Pro cameras memes/LARPs too if Fuji doesn't give them IBIS since they're very competetive in implementing it in their latest bodies and the X-S10 shows they can miniaturize their system at some relative performance cost. If the tiny FF A7C can have ~5 stop IBIS, there's no excuse to not have some form of it in all smaller-sensored bodies beyond the most entry level/tiny options a la X-As.
