Reusable Disposable?

Is it possible to reuse these after you finsh a roll? it seems like such a waste and so bad to the evironment but they take awesome pics, has anyone ever tried? like does it just take a usual canister of film?

They take a regular film canister but are loaded back to front. You'd be better off getting an old p&s or one of those cheap plastic cameras (ilford sprite, kodak ektar h35, etc)

To be honest pay a bit extra for a P&S camera because at least they have glass lens that have more durability.
Dispo is good for emergency but the lens is plastic and you don't know if it's clean or not.
Also it stuck on f10 so you don't have much flexibility. Shoot at daytime and use flash at nighttime.
This is actually good camera for beginner and kids who want to learn photog without worrying about damaging more expensive camera.

i second just getting one of the cheap plastic re-usables
i have the kodak half frame one as my "disposable", if i'm getting low quality shots, might as well get 72 of them per roll

And yes it takes the usual canister. You'll need a dark room (not a darkroom, just a room with no light) or better yet, a changing bag. Get some gloves too, so you can manipulate the film without leaving fingerprints. You'll have to preload the spool and if it has flash be careful not to touch any contacts.

Don't labs send the emptied bodies back to manufacturers which then put new film in and sell them again? Or do they not do that anymore?

I watch some people taking apart several brands of dispo and most of them fall apart the moment they were opened. The only one that can be reassembled was the Kodak dispo

I heard that somewhere but if every one gets just thrown out it's pretty bad.
Who even cable up with that idea "yeah we'll make one time use cameras that could be made reusable but we're not gonna do that",
At least you can salvage big capacitors from them.

Even plasticky fixed auto camera got a price hike due to current film camera boom in zoomers.

Or the manufacturer knew some busybody will try to reuse dispo and designed it to fall apart in disassembly.
I also doubt that they resend the bodies back. Modern companies are wasteful, including film roll companies. I don't think they even care about where it will go, either to recycling or garbage dump.
