Look better in thumbs, not that bad when opened, but still. I think that it's narrow focus that's the main reason. I'm not sure that it'd be better, but try closing that aperture completely.

These are mostly f/8, which is the optimal aperture for lens regarding sharpness. f/11 is fine, but f/16 and higher gets noticeably soft. I also like the shallowish dof.
