It makes hipsters seethe because your shutter count scares them and it makes their mad prefocusing skills and perfect index finger timing irrelevant. It's also very embarrassing for a DSLR or film camera user when their camera can't stay focused on someone walking towards them, but an iphone 6 can.
That said most film photos and DSLR photos are mindless snapshits anyways. Film users don't even shoot less, they spend more money on an endless supply of ilford HP5 and self dev. Sony mirrorless just results in 20 frames of the exact same thing as AF tries to stay on it, and then you delete the 18 frames that weren't 100% in focus.
