>get into photobooks for inspiration
Not just the photography, but the books themselves. Their themes, editing, layout, every choice that made it what it is (unless it’s a coffee table book) and try to make books out of your pictures.
>start working on projects
Photography for the sake of taking pictures can maybe become boring. Having a goal and working towards it can be challenging. Research a topic you are interested in and become an expert on it. Think about how you might best take pictures of it and check if other people already did something similar. Take it as importation, don’t be intimidated, offer your own take and grow from project to project. This can be about absolutely everything: small stuff like making a diary of how the sun travels through your room on different days, maybe your area is famous for pigeon breeding and you’ll document that (“Hi, I’m working on a project about …” will open a lot of doors), or you could decide to take pictures of dinosaurs all over the country. Everything that is can be photographed and everything that was or never was can be suggested.
>rot on an image board and wait for us to have an idea
We don’t like photography around here. Only gear. Don’t expect /p/ to be helpful.
