Lens doesn't focus to infinity

I have this telephoto lens and it's been working perfectly but now all of a sudden it won't focus to infinity?? It always stops short and the only way I can get sharp focus at infinity is by stopping it down. Wtf happened?

Are you sure it's not focusing past infinity? Try moving the focus point very slightly closer from the infinity end stop.

I have a 50mm 1.7 k-mount that won't focus to infinity either. idk what's up with it, I tested it on my Pentax P3n and k1000. I ordered a Pentax smc-fa 50mm 1.4, hopefully that works....

It's likely lens infinity stop can be adjusted relatively easy but you should do your research. I've done it with a m42 lens with improvised tool to open it (piece of inner tire rubber and length of round wood of suitable diameter because no slots for spanner wrench) but have not fiddled with other pentax lenses.

I've had lenses where if i put on a metal hood, the focus would get all wonky because the front barrel flexed,then when i'd take the hood off it'd be fine.
