Hi, I bought a Canon Ixus 185 about 2-3 years ago, was always using it with care (had a few cameras before this one), and I now have a faulty lens nearly out of the blue?
It's been a month since I had light issues on the lens (ie: I had to zoom at least a little bit so the picture wouldn't be 100% pure white light); two days ago I had a black screen while shooting and after looking at the picture I just shot, but restarted it then it still functioned. And today, it's just black.
The screen is black while the lens is open (the menu options (flash,F x/x, mode etc ) all still appear on screen while pointing and in the album too) , whether I zoom or not, use the flash or not, and when I shoot the picture, the photo is all black too.
If you have any clue on what to do, I've seen some comments that I should reformat the sd card? Would putting a homebrew OS instead of the canon change anything?
Also, I'm so baffled when I picked this up for a hundred bucks back a thousand days ago, and now the lowest price, for the entry camera, is at 3 fucking times this price.
And looking at used cameras, the choice is meager too if you're trying to find a budget camera that is less than 5 years old.
All I do is shooting technical pictures with it, 300 bucks for what? For being a filmmaker?
Sorry I'm not James Rolfe, I just want to shoot some shit pictures!
Thanks
