My mom uses macOS, but you may unironically have a point. It may be that it's all an algorithm based on people clicking like or dislike on the images, and retired boomers with too much time on their hands may be the only ones who bothers to consistently rate them, so it's entirely a reflection of boomer tastes.

It wouldn't have killed Microsoft to hire a good photo agency to pick some images, or just do it like Apple, find one good image and stick with it until the next version of the OS.

This clown needs to lay off the vivid saturation kick. He uses it as a crutch to cover his shitty subject matter. The last several years his over blown colors have gotten so out of hand it seems he's either going color blind, going crazy or just being an annoying douche because he can.

I'd tone down the colors for my taste but i disagree on the contrast. A photo is meant to display something you could see irl, if half your photo is hard black shadow it is not any more artistic to me, but a hundred times more annoying as I'm only seeing half of what i could see.
