>>4127807I suggest you return the s5, and get a Sony a7s ii or iii if budget allows, you'll have a much larger selection of lenses at your disposal and better resale value as it's a much more in demand system.
And if you need 20-50, the only real lens out is the Sony 20-70 f4, otherwise you're going to have to go with a 24-70, but that does allow for an f2.8 version, which may be beneficial if you're wanting to shoot on location and don't have giant light banks.
Zoom lenses aren't ideal for video due to focus breathing, the a7s iii can correct for this when used with native lenses. The other option may be to look at cine lenses, samyang's cine lenses are affordable and easily have enough resolution for 4k. They also have a new cine autofocus range designed for smooth autofocus with no breathing for video, which is kinda fucking cool.
If you insist on sticking with your gimped setup that someone else has already returned at least once, just get some second hand cine lenses and call it a day, a proper video zoom lens will obliterate any notion of budget you might have.
>>4127866No new native bodies, quality rapidly falling behind new lenses, spare parts being discontinued, good examples of lenses becoming more and more rare due to failed af, drops, dust, fungus, etc. You don't buy a classic car to save money and get good performance, you do it accepting you will pay hand over fist to perpetuate your retro larp.
