>>4129807I feel your pain, brother.
I've posted over 1,900 of my photos that I've taken around my locality, still average single digit likes despite using relevant hashtags and avoiding being spammy with them. I share the posts to Twitter as well, which gets minimum interaction there too. Took me over three years to grind my way to even 100 followers and many of them are inactive and rarely seem to like my posts. Those who do like my photos invariably don't follow.
Highest likes on a photo was 57 and none of them stuck around. A couple of others got 25 each. One fuck stole my photo that got two likes and he got 45 likes. Another one used my photo and credited me and they got 60 likes; my original got six. Yet more proof that the IG algorithm hates me. Also got shadowbanned (and getting even worse engagement than usual, if that's possible) for posting a photo of a church.
Just my luck to finally get into photography and IG 5-7 years late, when they started burying people and started the log-in gates. Yet anyone can post T&A and get thousands of likes, while IG turned into TikTok lite with all the videos they keep showing me.
Someone who liked my work got me to start a website for my photos and it failed hard. Though I should have expected it with my social media 'reach' being so fucking shit. Fucking seething. I'd hoped it'd get me discovered for some work and money, instead it left me disillusioned. Oh well, I have to post some more photos today on shitcunt IG for people to ignore.
