First you need to check where is your audio input and where are you going to feed the video input and/or if you need a second monitor. If you have some production audio bum near you then ask him a bit, i think audio is the most annoying part of filming so having his ass be comfortable with your workflow saves a shitload of time.
>a DSLR/ML for video production?I think the Panasonics are the best due to its video tools, at this moment i don't recall which one has the best hot shoes for XLR but in terms of pure video you can't screw it up, the S5 II and the S1H are the best but the Nikon Z9 and the Sony A7SIII have their own pros too. The Leica SL2S is a S1H for richfags who don't like buttons either so perhaps that can be an option for you.
