Just like Honda is really pronounced "H-oh-n-duh, but even that's not it , as the oh part in Honda has no direct English equivalent, being a mix between ways we traditionally comprehend the sounds. Nikon is thankfully simpler though .
However , you will sound autistic around most people if you pronounce it properly . I speak and read Japanese and even I would somewhat be turned off if someone pronounced it properly.
