>>4137930It's just a simple 600mm telephoto zoom and a decent camera to go with it as an upgrade that is also capable of doing some slow motion video and other general photography that would replace my current gear when sold.
Sony seems like it has all that I'm looking with their 200-600mm and A7iv (4k 60p is super sharp and can be slowed down like 40% for good results). And still has MP for cropping, ibis for night photography that I enjoy (and any cheap vintage acquisition, experimenting and adapting). 3rd party lens support for budget AF options. It seems sensible to me on the long term, just expensive to get into.
Maybe Nikon will get something out by the end of the year, but I highly doubt their 200-600mm will be a comparable price.
Sigma telephoto + budget Nikon like Z6iii (if it comes out and has video specs) ?
Also Panasonic, maybe? S5ii looks nice, but video specs there are too much for my needs, I think, and there's lots of limitation where you can use AF and where you cannot.
Canon R8 that just came out looks the best but it doesn't have IBIS and I would really like to have it.
Will have to wait how technology will trickle down to budget bodies or maybe I get lucky and score a good budget deal. It's hard when you want it all lol
