should I go with the Z6 II or the a7 III for landscape? I've read/watched countless reviews online, seen them both in store, still can't make up my mind.

One thing I did notice wen I visited, is that the a7 III had exact exposure preview, like the final capture was exactly how it looked in the viewfinder/display, whereas with the Z6 II it wasn't. Was there a missing setting, or can the Z6 II not preview final exposure as accurately as the a7 III?

The A7III has three major build quality issues
>Bottom plate is not weather sealed (you could theoretically seal it yourself, sure, but you won't) - also present on A7RIII
>Shutter has a design flaw that causes it to break around 10,000-20,000 shots
>IBIS system is mounted with 3 pieces of plastic that break if the camera is dropped - also present on A7RIII
The nikon does not have any of these flaws

If "MY Sony" is an A7IV/A7RIV or newer it would, in fact, not have any issues, because that's when they redesigned the body to fix that shit.

My Z5 has that setting, IIRC it was also turned off by default. Its in custom setting menu -> d shooting/display -> apply settings to live view
Then you see the exposure and the colours as they will be after the shot, the camera will not stop down beyond f5.6 during live view so the DOF may be different idk if that matters for you or if it's different in the z6ii, anyways for me it's a non-issue

The same lens on the nikon costs about 30% more, and you get the previous generation version.

and the z6ii is about 30% more expensive in the first place.

If your budget does stretch to the z6 ii, you may as well get the a7iv. But around that price, the a7riii would be my choice for landscape, the extra resolution is worth it.

That's easy to fix in post-edit. Gear is important. You need to love your gear, it should fit nicely in your hand and bring it as often as possible.

That's why OP should get a Fuji

I shoot x100v and the amount of attention I get from art hoes and tiktokers is insane. I wish I didn't own it and am looking to sell it and get a ricoh gr instead

Sold my V for the GRIII, no regrets. I prefer the focal length, it has ibis and is way more small and lighter. Film sims are good too.
Only bad things: No evf, dust problems.

Snoy is awful unless you plan on mounting literally any lens other than FE mount, and especially for landscape considering how much editing you are going to have to do to fix all of the issues snoy sensors give.

I still have my A7 III as a side camera after I bought the A7RV.
Glass is sharp and the camera performs.
Native glass is also expensive. I see myself replacing it with the IV or maybe waiting for the A1 II

sounds like user error, there are some obscure Auto modes that will not do this, but otherwise it works flawlessly, the only issue on both is setting the correct evf brightness so as not to thing its brighter than it really is
