>>4138723I've honestly had 2 cameras rip to the sun.
One was a mirrorless shooting 4k, pointed pointed towards a car at a car with a 50mm f2, and the reflection of the sun off the car's bumper basically lasered in and caused burn damage to the sensor. Still worked fine, and I only even noticed after shooting stills with it later and seeing what looked like dust spots.
One was was as a DSLR, doing interval shooting with a 50mm f1.2 with the sun in the frame. It locked up, and after removing the lens, smoke literally came out.
Lucked out and both were repaired free of charge by the manufacturer.
