How do you anons organise your negs/scans?
So far just gone by roll #, stock then dating my negs when I get them back from the lab
Also how much editing do you do on your scans? I was kind of reluctant to do it early on but I've started doing it as I know I won't be putting them through an enlarger so I lose nothing by doing it

chronological order, I write date and camera/lens(es) used on the printfile and put them in a negative binder. one binder per year.
first roll of the year is marked #1 on the negative sleeve, etc.
I then make a contact sheet and punch holes and put it in front of the negs, on the back I write developer and if I over or underexposed or push/pulled.
scans are just the same numbers as the negative sleeves, so it's easy to refer to.

Currently I just mark the film type and year when the pictures were taken on the negative sleeves. I haven't shot many rolls of film yet, so at the moment I just store the sleeves in an A4-sized cardboard holder. I need to get a binder at some point.

Monochrome: levels, gamma and/or curves adjustments to get the tonality right.
C-41: I adjust the levels separately for each colour channel to correct (roughly) the colour shifts caused by the scanner. After that I do some brightness/contrast/gamma (or curves) adjustment.

Clone tool is great for removing dust specks

Personally I've just stuck to the tone and monochrom presence sliders in lightroom.
I've used curves before but I don't really understand how to tweak them properly beyond making an s shape for contrast
Was worrying if I over edit because of how crunchy it looks in certain areas but I'm probably stupid for pixel peeping low-res scans

Don't I know it, though I've been driven mad a bit with how much I've cleaned up.
Not much I can do about that other than doing self-dev or asking the lab to be extra careful but that seems petty.

i don't know how many rolls honestly. i've shot since dec 2015 (although that binder was marked 2016). back then neither color film nor B&W was expensive so you could shot a fuckton. slide was pricier but not financially crippling like it is today.
that binder I actually lost by being an idiot and keeping it in a communal darkroom paper locker. some janny probably took it or got mad that I kept it there and threw it away
i miss the old color stocks like fuji natura 1600 and superia xtra 1600 too =((

How do you organize them? Just directory hierarchy or do you use some fancy metadata on your scans?

I keep the file names in the same sequential format that the camera makes them. I can search my various backups for that file name at any time
