Not how optics work. Perspective distortion is a thing, and the perspective isn't even the same between moving your body and changing focal lengths unless you can fucking fly or disappear into the ground.

Fuck you guys like to reach. Did I say anywhere in my post that I'm going to resell? Do you think Japanese people give a shit if you buy there goods? The deals aren't that great but at least Nikon doesn't softlock their cameras by putting Japanese only menus because they sell the camera for cheaper in Japan. I also spent the last 4 years learning Japanese and Japan is awesome for shopping.

Japanese people should be proud they created a fantastic second hand market. Better than what's happening in north America with every loser scouring Facebook marketplace/craigslist/pawn shop for a deal so that they can flip it down the road.

At least in japan I can walk into a hard off and get a high quality camera, some awesome retro vinyl or some older car parts for a good value instead of dealing with some super capitalist in America.

I have a Canon M50, Nikon D700 and D90.

I use the M50 for being discrete and for adapting vintage lenses and doing macro. D700 is for portraits mostly. D90 mostly I loan out to my sister in law with a kit supersoom.

I'm thinking of picking up a D810 and a nice wide angle to use for real estate and architecture since my dad has been a realtor for 30 years and I could probably get leads pretty easily, have already done some with him.

On the other hand, I'd really like some kind of mirror less with IBIS to replace the M50 so I don't invest any more into M mount. Maybe Fuji XT30 or a first gen Z6.

You could probably afford that already. A7RIIIs look expensive at a glance but people can be haggled down pretty far. Pretty much all electronically DSLR controlled lenses can be adapted.

Used a Nikon D80 well over a decade ago. Had a couple of prime lenses along with the telephoto kit. Is there a reason to stick with Nikon? I don't think the lenses will fit on the mirrorless cameras.
I have my eye on Fuji but I really can't tell if it's a fad right now with just how much exposure it has compared to everything else when it comes to reviews. I can't imagine them being bad but getting a feeling it could unwarranted hype.
It would be the XT30 or against better judgement splashing on a XT5.

The lenses are definitely on the larger side. The 50r also feels large. The 50sII/100s are smaller than a D800/5DIV, and around the same weight. 50r + 45 f2.8 is fine for daily carry, feels like a MF film camera in size. 50r + 80 f1.7 is big enough that I know the 110 f2 would feel obnoxiously large to me.

I've heard of fujiya and mapcamera and I've read Tokyo camera hunters blog on the stores. I'll also check out the Nikon museum. Also seems stores will give you 10 percent credit towards a trade in if you trade in a camera. I'll probably get peanuts for a z6 so I'll just convert it to full spectrum.

I have the Tamron 17-70 f/2.8 and I love it. The difference between 17mm and 18mm is surprisingly large, but I love standard zooms that go out to 70mm, I always feel limited by 50mm.

There is also the Sigma 18-50 I've seen nothing but positive reviews for and of course if you feel like dropping big bucks you can get the 16-55 Fuji.

Quite the steal considering the market in my city doesn’t really have old stuff or other things besides typical canikon “moms first dslr” and Sony a6000 tier junk for sale lol. The 1ds mkii came from a local camera store’s consignment, I overpaid for it at 350 I think, but I wanted it. Interesting thing is they both have previous owner data hardcoded into exif, they’re so old that the software to change it won’t run for me, and the 1d requires FireWire lol.

Have you tried leaving the battery out for a few days? Surely the battery inside (if it had one) is dead and it should wipe all the data if it's without power long enough. But yeah $100 seems like a crazy good deal.

nah, that doesn't wipe it, i think it hard codes (i'm not technical before someone roasts me here ok) into the ROM or something like that. Everything else gets wiped that you would expect, like date/time, simple settings, but a lot of the extended settings persist through dead battery.

even more so when you consider that homie also had the original box, charger, and an AC coverter included with it which wasn't part of the original kit I think. i really lucked out.

i bought a wb35f (the samsung one) from 10 years ago for 20 bucks the other day. It came with packaging and everything
then a g7x mk2 for 150 bucks, also had packaging. All I had to do was to blow some dust off the lenses.
The value of their optics did not change, they still put the same quality glas in those cameras now and that is what produces the quality image, but with everyone taking phone pictures they just sell these cameras for cheap.
It's also interesting how for 20 bucks you can get better pics than most smartphones.
