can you elaborate on what you find interesting about this? There are no comparable new film point and shoots as a modern day reference. but inflation wise $100 in 1991 is $220 in 2023.

There’s like 3 brands that make basic 35mm point and shoot cameras today but they’re all about $50 with shit quality and plastic lenses.

It’s interesting to me that most of these cameras would probably cost much more to manufacture today. Just one of those things “they don’t make ‘em like they used to.”

Also, minimum wage was $3.80 in 1990.

All of these cameras are garbage. People paid the money they did because they were too lazy to carry and use a proper slr. These cameras are the film equivalent of compact digishits of today.
