Hey /p/,

Wondering if you've ever tried adapted IMAX lenses to your [insert camera brand] camera?

Seems like IMAX is the penultimate in cinematic quality so i'm really thinking getting something like this for my XT-4 would really elevate my cinematography.

i've always found medium format shots i've looked at to be quite soft, and if they're sharp, like hasselblad, they're gatekept at exorbitant pricese, whereas IMAX resolving power is insane, the testing methodology can't even keep up with it

Pentax 67 lenses are fantastically sharp. The only seriously expensive lens in that lineup is the 75mm f2.8 asph because very few were made.

pretty sure the ultimate tier cine lenses are all in use by hollywood, like you can't just walk into b&h and buy one off the shelf, you have to know a guy and he has to be interested in your project and take producer credits in exchange for borrowing them... this is partly why a lot of cinemotographers now are adapting Nikon AI-S lenses to EF mount for cine use, I guess they'd be third option, triultimate? anyway, i know a guy who knows a security guard at an imax theatre so one of these can be had quite easily in comparison
