>>4149549the difference aside from af and focal length? i have no idea because i have never compared them.
actually the main reason i got the 40mm on top of my 50 is not because of focal length or anything like that, its just because of autofocus, i just needed something in the 50mm range with autofocus and it was either that 40mm or the 55mm 1.8. the only reason i went with 40mm batis is because the colors come out almost the same as they do on the voigt, meaning i dont have to additionally fiddle with and separate images in ps/lrc i can just batch edit shots from both lenses when thats possible
but honestly i dont really use the 35 and 40 because i actually dont usually shoot on ff, so when i do have to take the snoy out instead, i like to match my style and visuals from my hassy and that i can only do with a 50mm and a 135mm so basically, i usually do everything i can with the voigt 50 and then do beauty, head shots and close up with the 135. its very rare that i do on-location shots AND that i also need to bring the snoy AND that i also need an autofocus lens. so the 35 and 40 get almost no use.
my favorite lens on snoy among them? i cant really choose between voigt and 135gm. maybe if you pointed a gun to my head i would choose voigt but thats only because its a 50mm. my style and compositions revolve working around two lenses in pair and that two lenses are always a 50mm FF equivalent and a 110-135mm FF equivalent. its always been like that, ever since i got my first actual camera with a 24-105, ive always shot somewhere around 45-60mm and on 105mm. always had only 2 lenses and its only recently that i started shooting with wider focal here and there. even now on my x2d, i only use 65mm and 135mm for all my work.
and the plus side of having a 50mm and a 100-135mm lens in pair is that you can basically shoot close to everything with them, youre not as restricted as you would be with the more popular choices of e.g 35+85, 50+85 or a 24-70 and so on.
