>>4150114>weather sealingbtw A7III rear cable slot on screen is too big and if you hold your camera vertically under the rain with screen heaved - drops can come in and cable will rust, Sony have inner instruction for service centers to repair it under warranty, even though moisture damage isn't considered warranty case, so basically they admitted the flawed design
wasn't a problem on A7II and also fixed on A7IV
>this happened to less than 1% of a fleet of rental cameras that were probably hit pretty hardyes, but Nikon have same IBIS system and it mounted with full metal carcass
Sony, as always went with marketing over engineering. Plastic mount (three dots of plastic) is cheaper to produce and weight less
Still I consider Sony as the only choice on fullframe MILC market if you don't want to use DSLR lenses through adapters, but Sony have so many flaws, that it's just nonsense sometimes
A7III for an example don't have horizontal AA filter, only vertical one. Moire? Yes, please. Improves sharpness though.
But with A9, which is basically A7III premium (or A7III is crippled A9) you get normal AA filter, impossibly good tracking and nearly perfect rolling shutter, which allows you to use electronic shutter, while on A7III e-shutter nearly unusable
A9 cost used nearly same price as A7III, so I'd went with used A9 instead and even despite A7III having some better noise perfomance, I'd still go with first generation of A9
