I have a 7 lenses, but none of them do exactly what I want. So now Im looking at buying another 2 lenses. I will have sunk over $8000 into photo gear. Also I am a "nophoto".

Primes are a meme waste of time.
You are better off having a greater range of options on call directly with a zoom than slightly more bg blur that nobody cares about.

I bought that lens as my first and only and sold it two weeks later. Nothing sucks the joy out of photography like making your 35mm camera the size and weight of a pentax 67.

Now I use a 50mm prime, my feet, and a panorama kit

thats why you buy used. i know m43 is a meme but this shit is the cheapest used. 100 bucks for a decent body, lenses are like 1/3 the price as they were used. Disregard reviews of pixelpeepers, take the ones that everyone hates and you never have to look back. I got 4 primes, 1 zoom lens (that one kit lens) + body and i think im still under 1000 bucks total

i'm never going to buy a telephoto over 85mm
i'm going to buy a micro four thirds camera and a telephoto for that, and it will still be cheaper than some 200-400mm for full frame

What bothered me more is the weight of the camera bouncing around in bags and on straps. Maybe it's not bad if you're fat and are naturally padded against it.

A D850 and AF-S 24-70 f2.8 is 4 1/4 pounds. Swinging around, gaining momentum, smacking ribs and door frames unless you want to carry it like a baby. I have better shit to do than baby a camera.

if you sell me some of your gear, i can teach you one of the most important lessons in photography (and a few more)

the lenses really do very little of the work besides bring in more or less light (aperture limits) and more or less sensitive sensor (better lowlight)

remember you are binocular, camera is monocular, camera sees nothing like you see

you have to shoot, repeatedly

like tennis, it's a very honest skill

Sometimes green fringing on specular lights fits the mood of the picture. It's fine here but I am more bothered by the insufficient depth of field to my eye. I also like nisen and moderate cats eye on occasion.

Gearfag standards for "good bokeh" (NOT ONE SINGLE ABERRATION YOU HEAR ME!?) are nonsense anyways. The most beloved bokeh of all time (swirly and soap bubble) would get slammed by today's gearfags for being "busy" and then they would insist the lens that is performing fine from f4 on needs about 12 more elements in 6 groups to make it ultra sharp wide open and of course, smoothen out the bokeh.

Resulting in this small mirrorless.

Anon, that's a 85/1.2. That needs a 71mm aperture, it was always going to look like it was made in Bilbao. You can't telephoto your way into making that much smaller.

I challenge you, OP. Among your lenses select just ones that overlap 24-70mm range (35mm equivalent fov), pick the lens that is the cheapest from that group, put it on any camera you have (your choice) and take a picture. Of anything.
