you edit your picures accordingly and put them on the web.
someone else comes along, not using a calibrated monitor. will he see your colors for what they are? or will they be just like any other colors to him, edited on just any monitor?
unless both sender and recipient are using a calibrated monitor, calibrating colors is moot. and unless someone has seen the colors on a properly calibrated monitor, they won't even be able to tell the difference.
