for b&w film, traditional darkroom prints are worth more than an inkjet print of that same negative, scanned and processed to be visually identical. more work that is harder to repeat is needed to make copies of that darkroom print; once my file is good i just load paper and hit the button. what's "better" depends on who you ask - i've had clients prefer my inkjet prints over their darkroom prints.
