hi all, i'll be filming my next feature soon and i'm in need of advice. i've filmed all my stuff on Lumix micro 4/3 format but i'm going to full frame for this one. here's my setup:
A cam: S1h (or S5iiX)
B cam: S5
Lenses attached would be a 35mm and 85mm (ideally 90mm) respectively. the only problem is i can't decide what lenses to really look into. the DZO Vespid primes would be a pretty good match but they're so so expensive, i'd rather not spend over $2k on lenses, so i've been looking at vintage lenses and it's hard to really choose what lenses are good or worth getting, also the markup has been insane on them and the quality of them simply isn't guaranteed so it's a toss up.
overall i'm trying to decide between the DZO vespids and a 35mm and 85mm canon FD set i found locally. former is like $3000 before tax, latter is $2000. the FD lenses could also be upselled in the future but because i'm sentimental, i probably want to keep the lenses i use on the feature bc i'm an idiot :)
i also plan to buy a helios 44-2 58mm for my own purposes and maybe sometimes in the film. also, i don't wish to rent because the project is going to have its filming days stretched out a bit over the year. so, renting would be impractical at that point.
anyway idk i've been in such a rabbit hole with lenses but the overall thing is that i want the film to be pretty stylized, think the new Elvis film's visual look. so, that's the main goal. i'm close to pulling the trigger on the canon FDs but not there yet. appreciate any advice!!
for reading all this take my OC comic thanks
