Buy DSLR in 2023

Is it retarded to buy a DSLR in 2023? I am looking to upgrade, and have a few EF lenses. I am on APS-C now, and want to go full frame. I only do photography, and don't give a shit about video. I also have no problem focusing and recomposing.
I have never tried shooting with a mirrorless, but the idea of looking through an EVF seems odd to me, I just can't imagine it being a good experience. With DSLR, I see the light directly. Also, DSLR battery life still mogs the shit out of mirrorless.
Should I go DSLR, or should I just embrace the short battery life, EVF mirrorless future?

Seeing the light directly is a lot less useful than seeing the scene how your sensor sees it per your exposure settings and with its sub-human eye dynamic range, which as long as your camera previews all exposure parameters in real time (most do or have a toggle now, or it kicks in when exposure is locked, e.g. half shutter press), what you see is what you get (of what you'd get via processing the raw as the currently set jpeg profile, regardless of if you're taking jpegs or not) in terms of the file produced.

The main arguments for OVFs were previously that EVFs were laggy or low detail, and that mirrorless battery life was worse in part because of the EVF. That's all pretty much irrelevant (battery life on many models is beyond most people's needs and swapping is trivial) and has been for some years now. Now the only case is that these dead DSLR mounts are cheap up front, but FF mirrorless is becoming pretty affordable now too (let alone smaller sensor systems), and will be actively supported for presumably decades to come (since there's no real predictable further change to how cameras work per physical constraints that would justify all new mounts again).

Plus it's nice not having a big, heavy, ugly, bulbous boomery camera body, along with all the other perks of mirrorless like better AF.
