>>4156319>what is a decency levelthere is are points in gearfaggotry where it's very hard to distinguish between things, it costs a lot of money to improve while staying in the same system, and bickering is mostly pointless.
1" and 4/3 are bracketed between such points, as are FF and APS-C (difference is only visible with extreme cropping and pixel peeping, or extreme high ISO shooting). the next bracket is fuji medium format to "real" medium format - it's genuinely hard to tell them apart most of the time, but both are instantly, visibly better than full frame and APS-C unless you scale the images way down. it's the difference between scooting forward a little and taking a full step.
it's going to be really hard to get something like a 24-200 lens on a pocketable ILC. you can get stuff like that from 1" sensors, and the quality will be perceptibly the same except in edge cases like cropping your 200mm lens to a 350mm FOV and shooting past sunset without flash. and then taking that tiny scoot forward won't give you much, you'll be pixel peeping to see what you got. you could buy the big, full frame sized and priced lenses for your MFT and you would still never pass that next decency level, it would look very close to 1" anyways and you'd pixel peep hard to see the benefit. but taking that full step to APS-C or full frame will absolutely be noticed.
