35mm f2.8 gets more days out than my 24-70 2.8 or 70-200 f4 (which gets taken out more than my 70-200 2.8). Pretty rare that my 35, 50 or 85 1.4, 18mm 2.8, 12-24 or 16-34 f4 get used.

It's good to have options though, sometimes it feels right to take something specific out.

A more simple rule would be if you dropped out in highschool or have a university degree use zooms.
If not use primes.

While I do have a completely different kit for work and side gig stuff, my EDC is distilled down to one zoom and one prime. Zoom for versatility and prime for low light.

Yeah, 40mm equiv. is probably my most used focal length. I used to have the panasonic 20mm 1.7 but the AF is broken on Olly bodies in video, like it just doesn't work at all. Also I like this kit with the 20 and the 12-45 because they are both the same size and weight, both share the same filter size and lens hood too.

Primes are my kryptonite. I keep thinking they’re going to make my photos better and I keep being out somewhere shooting and wishing I have a zoom. And then I see my photos on zooms compared to primes and I don’t really see a difference. I really want to be a prime only shooter though.

I used to own that 27mm back when I had my X-T2. It was my first digital ILC, pretty cool kit. I prefer this current olympus set up though, I'm sorry that upsets you. Where are your photos, anon?
