Personally I think per-pixel evaluative frame metering as done by modern mirrorless cameras is a downgrade.

With matrix metering you just know your photo will be properly exposed, no matter what.
You rarely even need to faff about with sliders in post, one could shoot jpeg and get perfectly fine prints everytime, and this is with EIGHTIES technology.
