I asked her what she was taking and she said photography. I laughed, assuming she was kidding and she got really offended. I just thought it was bizarre to fly from China to Canada for photography at a fucking art college (especially with the 3 big world class unis we have here) but that's what she did. One day she was on break when I went in and she went to her locker and got me her portfolio. I was polite, but it was really horrible stuff... shopping carts and grave stones, etc. Just snapshits. Anyway, she gave me her email and we kept in touch. She eventually went back to China and got a job as a cashier at a grocery store.
