I like either, I find that depending on latitude and altitude you get anywhere from 2 to 6 usable hours of dawn or dusk lighting

the magic hour is 4:20pm and 3:33 am and also 3:69fm and also the in between times of 12am/pm in which you should not be on any boundaries between rooms or properties or else your soul will be stuck in limbo.

Also try not to be in the shadow of a mountain at sunset

Also for architecture and cityscape photography if you want to have realistic colors and minimize shadows/reduging the contrast.

If you want to obtain a "drawing" look it works really fine. The golden hour can give really impressive results but could end up being a bit cheesy and CGI.
