I'm cross shopping these lenses.
The Sigma is lighter, smaller and slightly sharper.
The Tamron has a wider focal range and lens stabilization.
I shoot photos and video. The Tamron just seems really useful because of the stabilization. I won't have to reach for a gimbal or tripod as often. I think that is really underrated when people compare these two lenses.
Paired with a Sony 70-350, the Tamron matches up very nicely.
