There is a line between wealth and wasting money to pretend you ever had it.
Spending $2199 on a fucking pentax is on the wrong side of that line. A Leica Q2 Monochrom is on the right side of it.
Or, in your terms, think of it as the difference between putting gold "rims" on a 5 year old cadillac and driving an entry level porsche.

The higher class gentleman does not focus solely on the base sensory experience but also the mental experience, the perception of all images and philosophies called up by the presence of the luxury item, and views it as significant in itself as a photographer is concerned with aesthetics in all things as surely as a painter does normally prefer his brushes not be hideous and cheap

The distinguishing features, which should be obvious, are presented thus:
The heritage of pentax is one of cost cutting and budget friendly utilitarian products.
The heritage of Leica is one of exacting craftsmanship and expensive but exquisite products that tread the line between an artists tool and art itself.
The pentax is the camera that distinguishes the mere picture taker
The Leica has long since enjoyed being the symbol of the Photographer, the archetypical representation of someone who operates with intent.
The pentax is made in a third world country.
The Leica is made in Germany, the seat of European civilization.
The name pentax combines the satanic pentagram with mid 20th century technobabble, a meaningless and evil term
The name Leica carries the legacy of its inventor, as the Leitz Camera

Supposedly it's a bit sharper when you go and pixelpeep. Though, by the time you go and pay that extra cash for monochromatic sensor, you can already get high resolution camera that will be still sharper. Not to mention that when you're shooting black and white, sharpness is the last thing on your mind.

I'm pretty sure that main reason for most people is just convenience. Camera shoots black and white, and that's all it does.

That's more of a nuisance. Convenience is something that shoots both monochrome and colour. Otherwise you'd have to bring two cameras with you.

EOS 90D, 32.5MP 1.6x APS-C camera. 3.19 µm pixels, but it's Bayer. The Pentax is 25.7MP 1.5x APS-C with 3.76µm pixels but no debayering means it'll likely outresolve the 90D. Also that viewfinder has a 1.05x magnification, fucking glorious. Imagine a 400mm with 2x teleconverter on that baby.

It takes a quadrupling of linear resolution to create a noticeable quality increase

The lens must follow suit. On smaller sensors this would be a more major technological accomplishment than the sensor. Canon hasn’t done this yet.

Stop sperging about megapixels. This means that the canon 90d would need over 100 megapixels or a 240 lp/mm lens.

Struggle to tell 25mp from 62mp
Would be challenged to tell lenses apart by sharpness without viewing 100% crops on a display or print with less than 250pdi AKA zoomed way the fuck in, the equivalent of a wall sized print

I'll have to pull you up on a couple points you got wrong.
1 - Germany is the third world colony of the Middle East and Africa
2 - Pentax is named after the 5 sided prism they used in the old SLR cameras they made.

Not saying it's not a shit camera but Leica is just plain overpriced for how mediocre their sensors are

Pentax has arguably the largest lens line up of anyone, you can fit any lens from 1975 onwards.

The original name of the company was Asahi, the CAMERA was called the pentax.
Pentax just became the more commonly known name.
