I can click a button and get bella thorne nude, the greatest superbowl game of all time, the greatest michael jackson performance, live footage from the war in ukraine, the hot girl from my highschool in her bikini, an episode of miami vice, jump in and play the latest video game, watch an EPL game live etc etc etc.
Yeah a photograph of an empty street is boring as fuck compared to this.
I'm not sure if photography got worse, in fact it probably didnt. But the amount of entertainment I can get with the click of the button online now has improved greatly.
I still enjoy flickr film groups and the odd random group on flickr but nothing else photography wise is interesting enough to look at anymore.
Film photography will always be based though and uploading it to flickr groups almost nobody looks at or cares about. Its peak soulful.
