Need advice, pointers or tips for Night Photography

Hi, I am fairly new to the hobby and i would like to ask some advice, pointers or tips for Night Portraits

If there is also gears i have to invest in i'd like to hear as well

gear i have atm are
Sony A7II
Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art Lens
Couple of Speedlites and a softbox

photo below is err... just one of my piss-poor attempts on pulling of silhouettes in broad daylight

The best thing to do for night portraits is be patient.
Wait until the sun comes up, then shoot in the daylight. Much easier.

Try to find the exact look you are going for and find someone who made a video about how they achieved it.
