Read Gabor Matr "Hungry Ghosts". It helped me many years ago come to terms with the impact of my life experiences with my behavior. Maybe after you find the strength to seperate yourself from the lifestyle, you can come back to it as an observer and document other people's experiences with addiction. Maybe you'll be able to capture the joy in complacency that others never really hit.
