F mount is only plentiful in the sense that they used it forever so there's a bunch of them. Actually out in the wild, can put your hands on? Canon's EF. Which also makes them much cheaper, especially if you want to use anything with electronic aperture control or AF--unless you're ALSO talking about having to buy a more expensive body that has the screw drive/aperture actuation.

The P900 doesn't have the monster reach of the P1000 but comes pretty close. And you could get one of the furthest reaching interchangeable lens cameras in existence too, Pentax Q and Q10. Throw a 600mm at those and you're beyond the reach of the P1000 already. But the 600mm lens and the adapter get costly.

it's a Galaxy S7 tier smartphone hardware (256GB storage though) with a custom image processor asic and a BUNCH of smartphone-sized 150mm sensors + 75mm + 28mm sensors together which (ideally) work together to stitch together a large proper final image.
