>>4175297I don't think I've provided much of a narrative about my photos. That's why I don't add captions or anything. Someone says "I think these are bad" and I reply "I think you are wrong,' and now people are angry and calling me a dork and things like that.
I've been on 4chan for a few years and I know that anons like to argue, but they often just want to release anger and don't really have much to say. Please say something.
I go over this every time I post a thread, and I've gone over it in other threads too. Art is subjective, sure, and you can provide your own meaning; I provide space for this on purpose. But stating your opinion as "these photos are bad" and not "I don't like these photos" is dishonest for a few reasons. First, it claims objectivity. Second, it only allows for dismissal without any reflection on why you would choose to dismiss it, which means you're not doing your job as a viewer. If you're not doing your job as a viewer, well, I can ignore what you say. If you do your job as a viewer and still come up not liking my photos, I can't do anything about that and I have to consider what you say, but 90-95% of the people on this board don't have the knowledge or vocabulary to actually do that. The 5-10% who actually do have been hugely beneficial to me, even if their remarks were negative, and this is what I'm looking for.
