>>4176050Unless you're rocking some Arri sky panels and need to protect your massive investment, I'd say they're overkill. There are cheaper alternatives like Mantona, and their stuff is typically perfect for photography and videography, when you do need the extra protection.
Don't just get them to use as trolleys, as regular trolley cases exist and are cheaper, and will do the job just as well. Hard cases are for situations when your gear is at risk, such as when flying or when driving with the gear unsecured in a van.
That said, hard cases are great for cameras and lenses (anything sensitive to bumps, really), but I wouldn't use them for lighting gear. The main reason being that you can't fit much into a hard case, due to the padding. Compared to traditional padded bags, you need about twice as many cases to carry the same equipment.
