>>4178282What causes the apparent lack of gains from megapixel bullshit and how hot the MP wars are on crop sensors is:
>diffraction limit (already hitting it just past f4 on the gh6) puts a hard cap on lens resolution>absolute garbage lenses (they are cheap systems no matter how hard fuji and panaleica scam you)>the "additional resolution", while being lines resolved to a simple machine like imatest, does not appear to be additional discernable details to the human eye. the subject effect to non-mechanical observers is that of blurry details becoming less pixellated.>^and then you hit the diffraction limit and they only get blurrierOlympus has released lenses that resolve 80 lp/mm. The results are still blurrier looking than 60-70lp/mm lenses on less dense full frame cameras unless you cope crop to the extreme. All you get is better corner sharpness wide open, but wide open for you is stopped down twice on full frame and regardless of equivalent settings a larger sensor always has less impactful noise.
This is why no matter how much crop copers and fool framers whine about reach and ISOs, the GFX 100s is the ultimate if not the ONLY good camera in your price range. Don't tell me you're too scrawny to hold it, or can't forego your frivolous dildo purchases for long enough to afford it.
