In reality, he's got a junk dealer's collection of trash gear that he convinces himself is super elite. He's never committed fully to photography. He's an outsider dabbler. He didn't even know how to sharpen his photos in post process and that was only a few years back. Legitimately, I sharpened one of his photos and he was flabbergasted at how much better it looked. He asked me how I did it, and it was literally "turn sharpening up to 30."
And that's alright, if he were ONLY an outsider dabbler with a cheap collection. But the way he parades himself around the board like the fucking king emperor, the way he talks about himself in third person, the way he pretends that he's some master troll, that's the insufferable bit. He's a walking fit of jealousy. He came into the board when there was already an established pantheon of /p/ greats, and he was absolutely desperate to fit in and become one of those guys. He was always starting some half-assed photo project thread. One time, he tried starting a "weekly themed photo" thread that we always have, except they were retarded ideas that were basically impossible unless you lived in Florida. When participation turned out to be threadbare by week 3, he trashed the 4 people that actually posted photos and said they were all trash, then had a major meltdown and pouted for a month straight.
And even THAT would be okay, if he didn't still act like that. I can forgive and forget, but not if the person shows exactly zero personal growth and is an arrested adolescent convinced of his own superiority.
