Composition in forest photography (HELP)

No.4178082 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
This is my second thread and first time posting a picture on this board so I hope the exif data comes out okay.
>(pic related is my first time trying post processing. The original was underexposed and grayish.)
Thought getting in to photography might be healthy for my sanity and boredom >>4172863 (my first thread)

So I bought a camera a few days ago, learned about the exposure triangle and tested my cameras settings. Since I don't like people and love cloudy/rainy weather I finally forced myself out the house and took a hike.
Now I hoped forest photography would be easy to learn and try out the basics in composition making, but I am having trouble finding anything interesting, which could make a lovely composition, showcasing a story. Everything seems boringly plain on my path.
No order only chaos of branches.
No geometries I can use to my advantage.
No contrast.
All I see are the same trees and branches in the area with the same shades of green. Maybe its just my geographic location or maybe the grayish weather weve been having this week, but its highly boring in color.
