>>4186420if you like shooting expired film instax holds up pretty well. in fact, i’d argue it ages better than shooting a fresh pack. i’ve gotten away with some really nice shots from using a 3 year expired pack, unrefrigerated. as for polaroids though, don’t waste your money on anything that’s more than a year, maybe two out of date you’re going to just get burned with unwanted artifacts from the rollers. colours heavily degraded and the chemical pods dry up as they age leaving uneven exposures with plenty of brown blobs. you can get away with unrefrigerated expired polaroid i’ve found no later than a year out of date. dont even bother with pre-bankruptcy polaroid films, especially if its not been cold stored as you’d be burning money at that point for blank exposures due to the chemical pods all dried up.
i love both instax and polaroid but i got a real soft spot for polaroids desu. i haven’t tried the new polaroid go film but its the exact same stock as their latest i-type film just much smaller, to compete with instax mini/square. go big or go home.
