>>4181422>year 2023>japs have outjewed the jews>>4181455>Gearfaggotry so foolish it would be cringe collection worthy if it weren't overshadowed by everyone buying new fujifilm cameraskek, agreed.
>camera is just a light tight box. There is little special about it especially coming from a jap scrap consumer brand name, and you can max out functionality buying $20 ones from the 90spretty much, except 2000s ones are even better.
> about to paying $580 more for a shitty lens that washes out contrast and colors as badly as a plastic PnS. For a dad camera from the 80s.Exaggerating a bit now, I'd like to see samples from the 1.2. The 1.8 is great and the 1.4 washes colors out. Presumably the 1.2 would be better coated.
>Hipster tax paid: $1160. You could have bought a hasselbladd 500 series camera WITH a lens, back, and viewfinder. Do you know what hasselblad has different from lolympus, besides vastly superior build quality, vastly superior optics, and a film format worth spending money on? More than one knowledgeable technician in the country. The Hassy is foolish in its own way too, but at least you're getting your money's worth with it.
>>4181456I doubt he's envious. Same as when people blow $600 on a Yashica T4, but it's arguably less stupid than OP's purchase because at least it has a lens.
>>4181458The OM system was pro grade and often used on assignment.
The FM2 is not even comparable, OM-4Ti is a lot more advanced. It even has matrix metering.
>>4181466Yep, it's how much he paid. What does the OM-4 even offer over the OM-2? Weather sealing? It's not like HSS flash is useful on film. He could have bought 8 OM-2s and used them as if they had sealing, should they fail he already has a replacement ready. Now he's instead bought a camera that was weather sealed when it came out but the seals have obviously dried over time.
