>>4185836Yeah exporting to 16-bit tiff seems like the best way to edit with Darktable. Hyper Utility has the usual exposure, contrast, and color adjustments but anything more advanced you'll have to do in an external editor.
>>4185930>>4186131I've only had mine for a week so I'm not an expert. But I found a couple things in the manual that might answer your questions.
>When high ISO sensitivity is used for shooting, and [ D-RANGE] is set 130% or higher, S-Pixel will be used for the shooting. And the volume of the image data (including RAW image data) will be cut to approximately half. However you can still set the dynamic-range to up to 400% for use with applications.I did a quick test and it looks like past ISO 1000, the raw files get cut to 13MB in size regardless of D-Range. D-Range 100 files are always 13MB, while higher D-Range files are 25MB at ISO 1000 and below. The higher D-Range settings are still applied but you get less latitude than lower ISO files.
>When [100% (STD)] is selected, the continuous shooting interval will be faster. Also in this case, only S-pixel is used for images, and only 100% can be selected for the dynamic range settings in the software (Hyper-Utility Software HS-V3 and enclosed FinePixViewer) even for RAW images. It looks like your DR setting is locked in if you set it to 100 since it doesn't turn on the R-Pixels. I tested all of the D-Range settings and as long as you set D-Range to 130% or above you can change it later in Hyper Utility. So really the raw file will only ever have DR100 or DR400.
Funny enough Fuji still hosts the manual on their website.
https://dl.fujifilm-x.com/support/manual/s/finepix_s5pro_manual_01.pdf>the differentiating stuff i hear about raw editors (which can use all the pixels)I haven't gone down that rabbit hole yet. For now I'm sticking with Hyper Utility since it seems like it was intended to be part of using this camera since you have access to the film simulations and DR settings.
