Wow, finally, nikon has figured out how to make a compact 35mm f2.5 equivalent for their severely neglected, IBIS-less crop sensor mirrorless cameras. That will look really stylish on the zfc. Maybe in another 10 years they'll catch up to fujifilm.

what was the point of APS-C again? you don't want the good ibis, compact body and lenses of m43 but you also don't want full frame light gathering and sharpness? plus you never post photos, always talk about gear

If it does it will work in crop mode or with heavy vignetting. I know next to nothing about Z-mount though, but since the focal plane is the same and there's no moving parts I don't see why it wouldn't. It's not like you can design it to sit deeper like you can on smaller sensors DSLRs that have a smaller mirror to swing. For Nikon it was never an issue anyways, having the longest flange in the business had that one advantage.

I never used anyhting aside from fullframe for past 10 years but my take is that with APS-C you got 2.3-2.5 less sensor areas size, therefore much more compact lenses while it's stll can produce quality images.
